EpiSalve is a topical probiotic paste for the protection and recovery of superficial skin wounds in horses. The EpiSalve Probiotic Wound Paste provides intensive skin care and a protective smooth shield-forming effect, preventing external bacterial invasion. The paste is indicated as a complete and versatile "dressing" on superficial wounds or as post-surgical wound care. Effective in protection of the wound surface and decomposing necrotic wound tissue in depth (an accumulation of dead cells, tissue and cellular debris, the removal of which is a prerequisite for the wound healing processes to start). Whilst drying in surface the paste is lightly adherent to the skin, providing a smooth protective layer. Underneath the living bacteria will clean the wound on microscopical level and sustain the cicatrisation process (The process of a wound healing to produce scar tissue). can be easily rinsed without causing trauma to the wound bed. Contains no perfumes or allergenic additives the formulation is natural and well tolerated by the skin.
